Postponement of the Solo Exhibition in Juba, South Sudan
As you may be aware the Export Promotion Council (EPC) in collaboration with the Kenyan Embassy in South Sudan and other related public and private sector organizations has for sometime been planning  to hold a Solo Country Exhibition in Juba, South Sudan from 23rd – 28th April, 2012.

In spite of these well-intended preparatory activities, the Council has faced some uncertainties and challenges which cannot be assumed at this stage. These have been occasioned by the current state of high alert in Juba due to what is happening between the North (Sudan) and the South Sudan. Our informed judgment is that the mood would not be right for a Solo Exhibition to take place effectively at this time.  As a result of the foregoing the Government of Sudan has been hesitant to issue a permit to hold the Solo Exhibition and as such we have been forced to halt all other preparatory activities as we monitor the developments .This implies that we suspend the exhibition from the planned dates.

As a way forward there are on-going consultations at Government to Government level to sort out these challenges. We are indeed hopeful that a long term solution will be reached soon and the situation will normalize to allow us to hold the Solo Exhibition before the end of May 2012.

We are therefore appealing to you to hold on to your preparations until the assurance and our next communication on the new dates to hold the Solo Exhibition is given. In the meantime, we shall retain your application form so that we re-engage your organization seamlessly once the authorization to go-ahead with the Solo Exhibition is given.

We want to take this opportunity to assure you of our relentless support towards your organization’s endeavour to enter the South Sudan export market. We highly regret the inconveniences caused by the escalating situation in South Sudan but remain hopeful that the situation will return to normal.
