Certificate Program in Management and Innovation for Agribusiness
Programme Overview
The Certificate Program in Management and Innovation for Agribusiness Entrepreneurs is aimed at improving the management and leadership capacity of small scale agribusiness entrepreneurs through training to improve the quality and increase the productivity of the agricultural sector and thereby contribute to food security in Kenya. The training will lead to the award of a Certificate in Management and Innovation for Agribusiness Entrepreneurs. The training outcomes are to provide  analytical tools, market-oriented skills and information to increase the quality and productivity of the agricultural sector and contribute to food security. USIU has partnered with Michigan State University (MSU) and Global Business Schools Network (GBSN) to support key activities.
The Program will train 60 agribusiness entrepreneurs every year, 50% of whom shall be women drawn respectively from all over Kenya.
This takes into consideration that although women are the mainstay of small scale agriculture as well as critical actors in economic development and food security, they have difficulties in accessing resources and information.
