ITC ACCESS! Programme for Businesswomen in International

The inaugural 5 day training programme under the ITC ACCESS! Programme for Businesswomen in International Trade will be held from 6th to 10th June 2011 during which time the ACCESS! Programme will be launched in Kenya. The Programme will be launched on Monday 6th June, 2011 at 9.00 a.m. at the Nairobi Safari Club Hotel. The Minister for Trade will be the Chief Guest during the opening ceremony.

4.0 Avocado export ban to South Africa

Kenya is likely to resume export of fresh produce to South Africa before year end. This is raising hope among fruit farmers who have suffered huge losses since avocados were banned over two years ago.

Kenyan Government officials say the ban over fruit-fly infection has been costing local horticulture farmers more than Sh. 6 billion annually. Kenya is an equal competitor to South Africa as both export fresh produce to European markets.
