Well done and thank you - Shalom
Shalom Beneficiries
We wish to send our appreciation to the Export Promotion Council (EPC) for its immense support to us; of note is through the SME website. Through the website, Shalom Women Group is doing very well and already we have at least three orders from local and international markets. I would like to state that Shalom is an umbrella organization for many women groups from both Machakos and Makueni districts with an estimated membership at over 2000 women. Such support from EPC therefore have a great trickle down effect to many lives and specially to the women who rely

on the proceeds received from sale of items like baskets which they weave.

Through the technical advice we received during the training from EPC personnel, we have instituted a few measures which we would like to share with others:

  • We sent emails to many friends and customers both locally and internationally. This is an effort that cost us nothing but has paid off very well.
  • We do check our emails 2-3 times a day to ensure that no information/inquiry stays long without being received and acted upon.
  • All emails received are acted upon promptly. In cases where there is no answer we acknowledge the email and promise to give the required feedback.
  • Our stationery and other written communication has both the website and email address whose domain is www.shalom.co.ke and not the public domain i.e. Yahoo that we were using.

We would like to encourage EPC to continue assisting such groups who initially may not know how to crawl but later they stand up, walk and even run on their own.
