Our country Kenya has been an excellent producer of high quality flowers and our eminence in this sector has put us on the map of the best flower producing countries alongside Colombia, Ethiopia and Turkey

Kenya had 200 hectares of carnation in 2015-2016 and our main focus has been on large standard carnations, at higher altitudes and competes with Colombia in terms of quality. Cut carnations make up about 4.5% of total EU imports of cut flowers. The Netherlands is our biggest market, followed closely by United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Poland in that order.
