Sensitization Workshop on Product Development
Export Promotion Council in recognition of the important role played by County Governments in supporting SMEs at the grass root level and the support they have given to EPC during the mobilization and training stages of EPC programs, Enterprise & Product Development department will start off this year’s programmes by holding 4 sensitization seminars aimed at engaging County Trade Officers and representatives from
the county governments on their expected role and involvement and also familiarize them with EPC’s mandate. The officers will also be sensitized on EPD’s activities including product development and capacity building programmes and recruiting suitable enterprises from their counties for possible inclusion in the above Programmes.

During the workshop, EPC seeks to engage the county officers in a recruitment exercise for the possible beneficiaries of the programme that leads to improved quality of products and linkage of the successful enterprises to the export market under the test marketing initiative. The targeted sectors in 2016/17 are;
•    Value added agriculture & Livestock products
•    Textiles, apparels & accessories
•    Metals & allied products
