The State Department of Trade through the Export Promotion Council is facilitating the development of a National Export Strategy for Kenya. This is an initiative that aims at aligning export related initiatives and activities across Government and the private sector for renewed dynamism in the export sector. Introducing competitive products that can easily access potential export markets as well as reinforcing national capacities to respond to emerging opportunities internationally, will have a positive impact on the Kenyan economy.

The process will involve in-depth consultations with stakeholders in the export sector including farmers, producer groups, manufacturers, government ministries and county governments. It is intended to identify products for export and especially those that can deliver value; employment and foreign exchange for the country.

Your views as a key stakeholder in the business community will be of great value in coming up with a practical and comprehensive export strategy, once implemented. We are therefore inviting you, alongside other stakeholders, to join us at this formative stage as we develop the thought process that will inform development of the Strategy. The inception meeting will be held on Thursday 11th February, 2016 at the Intercontinental Hotel from 8.00 am.
