Market trends September 2015
The market has remained weak in September. Arrivals have been heavier than expected as the last deliveries from Peru have been particularly weighty (low prices in the U.S. market) and the decreasing volumes from Kenya and
RSA have not compensated for the unexpected arrivals; moderate volumes from Chile and Mexico have additionally charged the market, strongly in advance in comparison to the previous years. The supply has been heterogeneous, with large prevalence of big sizes and quality problems for Peru because of the big export volumes in correspondence of the near end of the season. The demand has been extremely low despite promotions also at the import stage and with the retail prices maintaining very high levels, pressure has been felt particularly on big grades, whilst quotations for medium and small sizes remained satisfactory because of smaller
