Grand Opportunity for SME's to Enhance their Capability to Export
Do you desire to start exporting or are you a new exporter and want to increase your exports? The Export Promotion Council (EPC) whose mandate is to develop and promote Kenya’s exports of goods and services is carrying out a programme to assist new and potential exporters enhance their export capacity. The aim of the programme is to equip entrepreneurs with knowledge on increasing their export readiness to enable them to successfully get into or expand export trade.

Target Entrepreneurs

New exporters, enterprises including co-operatives already engaged in business with a good potential for export. Women and youth enterprises will be given priority.

Programme Outline
a.    First Workshop – 22nd -24th  April, 2015 (non-residential)
  • Understanding the international trade environment
  • Designing your export strategy
  • Developing your marketing plan
  • Preparing promotion material
  • Building a presence on the Internet
  • Selecting an export market
  • Taking advantage of fair trade opportunities

b.    Second Workshop – 3rd -5th June, 2015 (non-residential)- (After One month break)
  • Seeking export prospects
  • Winning with the Internet
  • Participating in trade fairs
  • Managing production
  • Pricing for export
  • Packaging and labelling
  • Getting your goods to market
  • Understanding international terms of trade – INCOTERMS
  • Preparing and processing export documents
  • Financing and getting paid
  • Contracting

c.   Export Market Linkage
The enterprises that successfully complete the training and have an export ready product will be considered for participation in regional export promotion event

Participation Requirements
Interested participants will be required to:
  1. Apply by completing an Enterprise Profile Form. ..Download here.. (Information provided in the form will be used to determine the suitability to participate in the programme).
  2. Pay participation fee of Kshs 3,000 for each of the 2 workshops.
  3. Meet own transport and accommodation cost during the 2 workshops
  4. Participate on a cost sharing basis at a regional export promotion event
