THE KENYA SOLO EXHIBITION AND BUSINESS FORUM, LUANDA, ANGOLA
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International in collaboration with the Export Promotion Council (EPC) is organizing Kenya’s Solo exhibition in Luanda, Angola, from 31ST March – 4th April, 2015. During the Exhibition, a Trade and Investment business forum is planned for on 2nd April, 2015 to provide a platform for Kenya business delegation to engage their Angolan counterparts and transact business including an opportunity for one to one meetings.



The Angolan economy is growing fast with the annual average GDP growth of 6 percent. Besides, the Export Promotion Council (EPC) undertook a market survey in Angola which identified the following;
  1. The Angola market has tremendous opportunities that Kenyan enterprises need to take advantage of.
  2. The country imports most of the goods which Kenya has the capacity to supply, presenting excellent opportunity to introduce Kenyan products to this market.
  3. There is  need to access the market directly rather than through third countries
The Kenya Solo Exhibition in Luanda is important manifestation because it will accord Kenya businesses an opportunity to launch new products, enlarge, consolidate and diversify their market in Angola and the neighboring countries. The Exhibition is also aimed at introducing to the Angolan market Kenya’s capacity to produce high quality value added products. Participating companies will also have an opportunity to introduce, deepen and strengthen their product and corporate brands into the market given the publicity programmes and business contact meetings arranged before and during the event.

The specific benefits to participating enterprises include:
  • Opportunity for test-marketing and product sampling
  • Enhanced visibility in Angola through publicity in the print and electronic media, radio shows, press briefing and other publicity materials.
  • Business to Business workshop to provide forum for interactions
  • Gauge buyer requirements and emerging market  trends including competition landscape
  • Opportunities for opening distribution outlets, signing of agency and distributorship agreements and licensing arrangements as well as securing trial orders and long term business deals
  • The freighting of a maximum of 100 Kgs of exhibits to Angola for each participating company.

Additional information:
  • The Ministry will provide booths measuring 9m² (3m X 3m) and basic display facilities for use by exhibitors during the event.
  • The participating companies will meet their visa fees, travel, subsistence and accommodation expenses, any applicable duties and taxes on exhibits.
  • Interested companies are required to pay participation fees of Kshs 40,000 or equivalent in Dollars to the Export Promotion Council

Applications:
Interested companies are invited to apply for participation in (a) Exhibition (31st March - 4th April 2015) and (b) Business Forum (2nd April, 2015) by filling in the event Application Forms which can be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Trade, Economic Affairs & International Trade Directorate, Teleposta Towers, 15th floor or from the Export Promotion Council offices at Anniversary Towers, 1st &16th Floors, University Way. Duly completed application forms together with requisite documents should be returned to the Ministry/Directorate or to the EPC on or before 27th February, 2015.
All interested enterprises and institutions are requested to submit a 500 words company / institutions’ profile for the event catalogue to the Ministry/ Directorate or the Council together with two passport size photos of the persons who will represent the company at the event on or before 27th February 2015 at 12 noon.
