The First Kenya Airways Cargo Plane Landed At Lubumbashi DRC On 10th October 2014
After a week-long successful Solo Exhibition of Kenya products organized by Export Promotion Council at Lubumbashi from 26th to 31st May 2014 in which Kenya Airways Cargo also participated and after several months of planning

it was with great excitement that a KQ Cargo Freighter landed in Lubumbashi on 10th October 2014. This inaugural freighter carried general cargo from Nairobi and other parts of the world while back to Nairobi it freighted polished malachites a semi-precious mineral which is found in plenty in the heart of mineral-rich Katunga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

There is great potential to supply electronics, pharmaceuticals, fresh produce, machinery like the manual water pump (Money Maker) amongst other Kenyan produce.

The freighter, which has a capacity of 15 metric tons, can also carry oversize shipments and will be departing to Lubumbashi every Friday at 12.40pm and landing in Lubumbashi at 14.15pm. The return flight will leave Lubumbashi for Nairobi at 15.05pm and arrive at 20.15pm.
