The Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Authority (AFFA) is a statutory body formed under the Act of Parliament No. 13 of 2013. This provides for the consolidation of the laws on the regulation and promotion of agriculture generally.

The Authority is the successor for the following institutions;

•    Coconut Development Authority
•    Coffee  Board of Kenya
•    Cotton Development Authority
•    Horticultural  Crop Development Authority
•    Kenya Sisal Board
•    Pyrethrum Board of Kenya

The Sector reforms are aimed at reviewing, updating and harmonizing the legal framework that would rationalize multiple legislation and regulations governing the Agriculture Sector.
