Botswana and Kenya Strengthen Trade Relations
 Botswana and Kenya held a Business Forum in Gaborone on June 24, 2014, in an endeavour to increase the level of trade and investment among African countries. The Business Forum was one of the activities lined up for the Trade Mission to Botswana that was organized by the Kenya High Commission in Botswana, and the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC).Kenya was represented by officials from the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kenya Investment Authority, Export 

Promotion Council, Kenya Utalii College, as well as private sector players in beef, horticulture, logistics and human capital services.
Speaking at the forum, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Botswana, Kenya was represented by officials from the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kenya Investment Authority, Export Promotion Council, Kenya Utalii College, as well as private sector players in beef, horticulture, logistics and human capital services.
Speaking at the forum, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Botswana, Ms Banny Molosiwa said there was huge potential for the two countries to increase trade and investment given the business environment in both countries.
She said the level of trade between Kenya and Botswana was low, noting that there were few commodities that Botswana exported to Kenya despite the cordial trade and investment relationship the two countries had enjoyed over the years.
